Senate Hearing Scheduled On Avian Flu – July 7th

On Monday of this week, in US House Committee Requests Information On Emergency Preparedness For Avian Influenza, we looked a a formal request from the House Energy & Commerce committee to the Administration for information on their plans and preparedness for the return of avian flu this fall.

 

Next week the Senate’s Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry will hold a hearing on the impact of  Avian influenza, with experts from the USDA and the representatives from the poultry private sector.  

 

The hearing will be web-cast live on live on ag.senate.gov  on Tuesday, July 7th at 3pm EDT.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts, R-Kan., Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today announced witnesses for the Committee’s hearing on the impacts of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza on the U.S. poultry sector.
